Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 28, 2026

Zula Group, LLC (“Zula,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Zula Family website and apps, including Zula Meals (together, the “Services”). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use and disclose it, and the choices available to you. A future Zula app may have a supplemental notice if its practices differ.

Information we collect

We collect information from you, your device and browser, your use of the Services, and service providers working for us. Please avoid entering information that is not needed for the feature you are using.

How we use information

We use information to provide and secure accounts and app features; save household preferences, recipes, plans, and lists; personalize recommendations; process imports and AI-assisted requests; respond to support requests; measure usage and improve reliability; prevent abuse; and comply with legal obligations. If we offer product-update emails, we will send them only where you have opted in or where otherwise permitted, and provide a way to stop them.

Some Meals features send the information needed for a request to an AI provider. Depending on the feature, that may include a meal-planning prompt, relevant household preferences, recipe text, a recipe URL, or an uploaded image. AI output can be inaccurate. We do not use your acceptance of this policy as permission to share your household data with another Zula app.

When information is disclosed

We do not currently sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. We do not treat sharing between Zula apps as an automatic consequence of using more than one app.

Family profile and sharing between Zula apps

We plan to offer an optional family profile that could make separate Zula apps work better together. Cross-app access to family-profile information will be off by default. Before any app receives information from another Zula app through that profile, we intend to show what information would be shared, which app would receive it, and why, and ask for your explicit permission. Accepting this policy or creating an account is not that permission. You will be able to withdraw permission, subject to information already used or retained for a separate lawful reason.

This cross-app permission feature is not available yet. Until it is built and explained at the point of choice, this section describes our intended approach, not a control you can currently find in the app. A share link you create yourself is a separate, user-directed action.

Your choices and requests

You can edit information in the app where an editing feature is available. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, or to ask about a share link or marketing messages, email support@zula.family. We may need to verify your identity before acting. We will respond as required by applicable law; some information may need to be retained for security, legal, accounting, or other legitimate purposes. Deleting the app does not by itself delete server-held account information or cancel an app-store subscription.

Depending on where you live and which laws apply to Zula, you may have additional rights, such as to know, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of certain personal information, or to appeal a denied request. We will honor applicable rights and will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising them. This paragraph does not mean that every state privacy law applies to Zula or that a particular statutory right applies to every request.

Retention and security

We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the Services and for the purposes described above, considering account status, the type of information, security and fraud prevention, backup cycles, and legal or accounting requirements. When it is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it as appropriate. Retention periods can vary by category and circumstance; contact us about a particular request.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system or transmission is guaranteed to be completely secure.

Children and caregivers

The current Services are intended for adults, including parents and caregivers, rather than for children to use on their own. A caregiver may provide a child’s name, birth year, and food-related preferences to use a family feature. We do not knowingly ask children under 13 to create accounts or provide information directly. If you believe a child has done so, contact us so we can review the situation. We will reassess this notice and the required protections before launching any app intended for children to use directly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Services change. We will post the new version with a revised date and provide additional notice when a material change requires it. If a new use or disclosure requires your consent, we will seek that consent rather than treating continued use or an edited policy as permission.
